Issue 2: Fall Watch List

MOST MOVIES AND TELEVISION SHOWS THAT WE WATCH THESE DAYS HAVE LITTLE TO NO SUBSTANCE AND VERY RARELY DOES MOST OF THE CRAP HAVE A LASTING EFFECT  ON OUR LIVES BESIDES THE OCCASIONAL PUNCH LINE THAT  MIGHT  STICK WITH US TO BE USED WHEN THE PERFECT  OCCASION PRESENTS ITSELF. THIS SHORT  LIST OF “THINGS TO WATCH”  CONSISTS OF DOCUMENTARY AND SHOWS THAT WILL HOPEFULLY PROVIDE US WITH SOMETHING WE DIDN’T KNOW BEFORE HAND, AND ALSO INSPIRE US TO BE CONSCIOUS AND RADICAL IN HOW WE LIVE OUR LIVES.

The Twilight Zone- These black and white classics have a special place in my heart
due to my pops watching re runs regularly during my youth. I wasn’t really into them at
the time but thanks to the internet I've recently been able to re watch the series and
although sometimes predictable and dated every episode provides a glimpse into the
depths of human nature, instinctive behavior, and paranoia. Even episodes dealing with
super natural beings and aliens paint a picture of our society and even 50 years after
they’re first filmed and aired these little insights into humanity hold true.

The Franklin Cover Up- In
the late 1980s a series of accusations against prominent officials were brought up by child claiming to be involved in a child prostitution ring. A PBS documentary was made on the series of events and although it was scheduled to air, the film was mysteriously pulled from syndication days before in aired. Luckily original prints of the film remained and you can watch the doc via internet anytime. Simply google the title and get ready to hear about some stuff that cant be unheard.

The Weather Underground-
In the late sixties a radical branch of the students for a democratic society “SDS”, called the weathermen was formed and  These activists went on to preform destructive protests and even bombings before going “underground” to avoid imprisonment and death at the hands of the US government. This Doc shows us the amazing empowerment of pursuing  your political beliefs, while also displaying how activism can be taken to extremes even when ideals are based on peace and love for all man kind. Netflix it.
